ABOUT ABOUT

$18 members, $30 non-members, $15 students

Carol Gunter knows a thing or two about moving Montgomery in a positive direction and helping create opportunity for its citizens as the Public Relations and Marketing Director for the City of Montgomery. Now, working as the liaison for the Raycom Media Camellia Bowl — under the direction of Mayor Strange and Pete Derzis, Senior Vice President and GM for ESPN Events — she’s continuing to do just that. Named after the Alabama state flower, the inaugural Raycom Media Camellia Bowl debuted on December 20, 2014 at the historic Cramton Bowl in front of a crowd of almost 21,000. Come hear the story of how this national brand, now in it’s second year as one of the 11 postseason bowl games owned, operated and televised by ESPN, produced a local impact on our community.

ABOUT CAROL GUNTER
Carol Gunter has worked for the City of Montgomery for almost 18 years. In 1997, she became the Public Relations and Marketing Manager at Parks and Recreation Department and then when Mayor Strange took office in March 2009, she became the Public Relations Administrator for the City.

When ESPN and City officials announced the creation of a new post season college football game in August 2013, Carol was reassigned to the Sports Commission of Central Alabama and loaned to the Raycom Media Camellia Bowl. With a staff of three, her time is devoted to working on corporate sales, marketing, media relations, event management, but mostly community involvement and outreach.
