Embrace the Flaw
What’s stopping you from your dream and before you can even answer that, do you know what your dream is? To fulfill your dream, you have to embrace your obstacle. Know that “flaw”. Own it and plow through it, go around it, or go under it. By embracing your obstacle creatively, you make your dreams happen. This is what I call living a creative life. Expand your concept of creativity and learn to purposefully and intentionally achieve what you dream.
Connie McLeod is a speaker, marketer, art director, and writer. McLeod is a veteran of the advertising industry. She calls herself a Creativity Coach because she finds creativity not only in her life and work, but she helps people find it in themselves.
She is senior graphic designer for an in-house ad agency within Woman’s Hospital—one of the largest women’s specialty hospitals in the United States. She has also worked in the ad agency, design studio, higher education, freelance, and not-for-profit side of the industry.
McLeod has won numerous professional awards. The American Advertising Federation-Baton Rouge awarded her its highest honor with the Sliver “E.A. Pete Goldsby” Award for lifetime achievement and she received the Dwane Sanbone Creativity Award by the 10/31 Consortium. During her presidency for American Advertising Federation-Baton Rouge, she earned President and Club of the Year in AAF’s Seventh District.
She took six months and backpacked across Europe in her 20’s and was her daughter’s Girl Scout leader for 13 years, and she jumped out of a plane on her 50th birthday. Her creative journey led her to her first, recently-published book, “Growing Your Creativity, The Live Your Life With Joy Workbook”. She is leading workshops, facilitating small groups, and giving speaking engagements on creativity.
She is a lifelong resident of Baton Rouge, Louisiana and graduated from Louisiana State University.
